Fishing in Different Depths

27 Jan

Different fishes inhabit different depths. Garfish is commonly caught in about 6 to 10 feet underwater. Fish like mackerel and Pollock are estimated to be caught in about 8 to 18 feet of water. It is important that you have a fish sounder from brands like Furuno. Likewise, you must make certain that you experiment using different kinds of lengths for fishing. You can start fishing in about 10 feet of water. If there is nothing happening, you can lower the line to about 15 feet after 10 to 15 minutes. Make certain that you take note of all the changes that you made so you can effectively find where the fish is. Also, make certain that you have different kinds of lines available on your boat. Make sure that you load different rods with different types of lines. This way, you will be able to experiment with which line can be more effective in the area that you are fishing.

Exploring Communication in a Business Environment

29 Dec

When you are spending effort to manage your team or business, you should always know how to answer the question of “what is communication?” as it relates to every single thing that you do. Without knowing how to communicate to your team members or your clients, you are sure to be on the wrong track and will be risking the success of your projects and end goals. Whether you are trying to communicate through email, telephone or through your actions, you are always displaying your inner thoughts whether you know it or not. It is critical to choose your words carefully and your actions with precision depending on who you will be addressing in your communication. You may be trying to get across one message in your communication, while the end listener might be interpreting it in a different way. When asking what communication is, you need to know that communication is a process that starts with your intentions and ends with the listener.

Sales Motivation Basics: Minimize Weaknesses

20 Sep

Should a sales manager constantly call attention to a salesperson glaring weaknesses?

Many sales leadership gurus says you should. I disagree. Calling attention to weaknesses is by and large a losing proposition is sales management.

If you are a football coach like Bill Parcells, who was notorious for calling out the weaknesses of his players, then this could work. It certainly worked for Bill.

However, with sales reps, these kinds of professionals are more “prima donna” than “prime time”. So minimizing their weaknesses is a far more effective motivational strategy. As a general rule, there is no need in calling attention to someone’s faults. There are so few sales managers with the Parcells-like ability to poke fun at someone and motivate them simultaneously. When most sales managers attempt to do this, the intent has the reverse effect, so its better to not do it at all.

Instead, make your salespeople feel good about themselves. If a sales manager does this consistently, then the salesperson will feel positive and confident. And a sales person who feels this way has a far better chance of making the sale.

Life is a Risk

08 Sep

I just attended a class today that taught composite risk management. These three words seem simple but, in fact, they are not. Risk management is a science with deep and wide meanings of which I need to understand completely because I will be tested on the subject this Friday. It’s means that calculations of risks are scaled in every scenario of life whether the event it involves a crisis or the probability of you buying new shoes. The probability of an event to occur gets a rating on a scale of one to five, with one being the least likely an event will occur to a five rating, which means the event is most likely to occur. So, the likelihood that I will make an A on Friday’s test, being an optimist, I give myself a rating of five. However, the likelihood of being hit by a bus before Friday, again the optimist, I rate that a one, but I will keep my finger’s crossed.

CPs Positive Stance Toward Complaints

27 Jul

Many companies don’t appreciate the complaints and try to hide the dust under the carpet to this apparently negative publicity. However, Construction Pipeline Vancouver, WA, sees it with totally different angle. They feel that that positive criticism and complaints are opportunity to improve the company in its currently weak areas. So, if the complaints are taken positively, they can provide a lot of feedback for company to improve and help them in development or establishment of its reputation.

CP’s main website is not the place for filing the complaints as it is designed for gathering business queries. However, CP is maintaining a separate exclusive blog site for complaints and review, where users can file the complaints. There is no moderator censorship applied on the complaint blog, so complaint can be filed without any doubts. Furthermore, anonymous postings could also be done and membership is also not required to file the complaints. Only posts that are taken down by system administrators are the ones with irrelevant promotional materials, spam and the ones with abusive and dirty language.

Security Seal Quotes Part 4

21 Apr

I had to get mad at the warehouse guys when shipping my security seals and now they will use a courier instead of a trucking company for these smaller orders. I did try to use the post office and sure enough – it all went bad!

These people know that shipping is expensive so they want free shipping and sure I would love to give it to them because then I know the orders going to get there and I can invoice the order as soon as it ships out. Plus I know how much the shipping is and we just sit back and see if they call back and if they do then we know that our price is good and if they don’t call then we know next time we have to have a better price. That’s all we can do but of course it hurts if we don’t get a deal.

Investors Demand Cash Back

01 Feb

For several months now, the mining conglomerates have been hugely popular with shareholders and particularly the biggest funds. With demand on the increase for commodities, these businesses have been increasing their outputs at a fantastic pace. In spite of increased production, prices have stayed high and that has led to spectacular jumps in levels of profits. Everyones a winner. Except in this case not really. As the mining businesses have grown, their ambitions have grown to match and the way they have found to meet their ambitions is to grow by acquiring other minig businesses. Nothing obvious wrong with that, but shareholders are always suspicious of acquisitions. One epxert said: “The academics are clear in their business advice: acquisitions destroy shareholder value, but they are popular with managers, who get to run bigger businesses.” So now shareholders are in revolt, demanding that management return any spare cash to them. They can then invest in the acquisition target themselves.

Transacting with the Southwestern Company

21 Oct

Companies have been vying for customers from the moment they open their doors for business. It is their job to make their services very much available to those who need it. One notable company is the Southwestern Company. It is their goal to have more sales and at the same time provide people with the things that they need. First thing that you have to remember when you want to do business with them is to check their reputation. No one wants to deal with a company that has so much bad feedback. Instead of having a hassle-free life, you would have to take in negative things. Another thing that you have to remember is that the company should be able to provide you with the details that you are asking them. If you want to check on some notable clients, then they should provide you with some. At least you have an idea on their clientele.
